what does participation look like (especially the rewards piece)?

every partner provides a simple, tangible reward that kids can redeem when they hit reading milestones (think: a free scoop, free kids meal, cookie, small toy, book, coloring book, tchotchke, coupon, or branded swag)

most businesses plan for 200-500 redemptions over the summer, and we’ll guide you on timing so it feels manageable.

if you’re not sure what to offer (or just want it to be easy), we can help you brainstorm ideas or fully handle it with our swag coordination add-on. with this add-on, we’ll source, brand, and deliver 200 items to your business.

what happens after I sign up to become a partner?

you’ll receive a quick follow-up form to submit your:

  • logo
  • business info
  • reward details

from there, we take care of the heavy lifting (building materials, promoting your business, and keeping you looped in on key dates and next steps.)

when does the program run + what are the key dates?

the Little Joy Summer Reading Program runs June 7 – August 30.

Here are some key dates to know:

  • partner sign-up deadline: May 20 (or until spots fill)
  • kick-off block party: Sunday, June 7 @ Joy Ice Cream (optional participation)
  • end-of-summer celebration: Sunday, August 30 @ Little Village (optional participation)

you're invited to host summer reading events and pop-ups at your business throughout the program. we'll help drive traffic to these events. (more on below! ⬇️)

Scholarships are a simple way to give back and be part of something meaningful in our community.

how will families find and visit my business?

your business will be featured across:

plus, families are actively encouraged to visit partner locations to redeem rewards — so traffic is built into the experience.

do I need to host an event?

nope! offering a reward is the only requirement.

that said, many partners choose to add a simple event or activation for extra visibility and customer engagement. it can be super low-lift or something you’re already doing.

  • storytime or reading hour
  • simple craft table or coloring station
  • kid yoga + story combo
  • scavenger hunt (in-store or around your space)
  • meet & greet or themed pop-up
  • “reading happy hour” or special kid-friendly time

you can also plug into events you’re already part of and encourage readers and their families to come visit your booth, like:

HEADLINE PARTNER ($1,000)

includes everything in featured partner, plus:

  • table both the kick off party AND end-of-summer celebration
  • table at a Gather & Grow market
  • 5 sponsored scholarships

what if my business category is already full or I want to upgrade later?

we limit to 2 businesses per category to keep this high-value for everyone.

if your category is full, we’ll reach out with options or issue a full refund.

if you’d like to upgrade your tier later, you can do so as long as spots are still available.
