2026 Summer Schedule for The Little Village Play Cafe in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin

Summer at The Little Village (Your New Favorite Stop Between Pool Days)

okay friends, it is officially That Time of Year. the sun's out, the popsicles are stocked, and our little corner of wauwatosa is buzzing with all the summer feels. 🌻

if you've never been to The Little Village Play Cafe in the summer, here's the deal: the vibe shifts. during the school year we're your everyday cozy indoor play cafe in wauwatosa, but come june through august? we're your secret weapon. your air-conditioned hideout. your "okay everyone's a little melty and i need 45 minutes of peace" answer.

we like to think of summer here as a choose-your-own-adventure.

our new summer hours (save this one!)

we've shifted things a bit to make space for all the summer magic happening inside and out on the patio. here's the rundown:

day hours what's happening
monday 8am–1pm open play (8am–1pm), baby & me stroller walk at 9am, care co. babysitter academy at 1:30pm
tuesday classes only little learners explorers at 9am, story sprouts at noon, curiosity crew at 2:30pm
wednesday members & classes only member-only play 8–11:30am, story sprouts at noon, curiosity crew at 2:30pm
thursday members & classes only member-only play 8–11:30am, story sprouts at noon, curiosity crew at 2:30pm, patiopalooza 4–8pm 🎉
friday 8am–8pm open play all day long
saturday 8am–1pm open play (8am–1pm)
sunday 8am–1pm open play (8am–1pm)

want to grab your spot? our full calendar lives here and you can book any class, event, or workshop right from there.

the quick ac stop (you know the one)

picture it: you've just spent the morning at hoyt pool or chasing toddlers around the milwaukee county zoo, and everyone is sticky, tired, and not quite ready to head home. enter: us. 🧊

pop in for an hour of open play, let the kids burn that last bit of energy in the cool air, grab a coffee or a snack, and head home with everyone slightly more regulated (you included).

rainy day? same energy, different reason. our open play hours on mondays, fridays, saturdays, and sundays were made for the wauwatosa days when the forecast is doing the most. we're basically your favorite indoor activity for kids in tosa when the weather isn't cooperating.

summer programming: where the magic happens

tuesday through thursday mornings, our space transforms. we're talking classroom mode, camp mode, "oh my gosh my kid just made a friend" mode.

our 2026 summer programming lineup is packed with classes for every age, birth through 13:

if you're a little village member, you also get those sweet wednesday and thursday morning member-only play slots. cozy, quieter, just for our village.

thursday nights = patiopalooza 🌞

okay. this one is our love letter to summer.

every thursday from 4–8pm, the patio comes alive for patiopalooza, and honestly? it might be our favorite four hours of the week.

we're talking:

  • a rotating lineup of food trucks (a different one each week, follow along on instagram so you don't miss your favorite)
  • pete's pops (the kind of popsicle that makes the whole evening better)
  • kids activities and crafts that we set up so you don't have to think about it
  • our bubble smoke machine doing its bubble smoke thing (it's a vibe, trust)
  • music playing while everyone hangs out

it's the kind of low-stakes hangout where you can show up in your sweaty mom uniform, snacks in your bag, kids in mismatched outfits, and just be. no pressure. no plans. just patio. it's hands-down one of the best free family activities in wauwatosa this summer.

gather & grow markets

once a month, we host our gather & grow market and oh, it is something. local makers, small businesses, sweet treats, kids running around, neighbors actually meeting their neighbors. it's giving "main street energy" in the very best way.

keep an eye on the calendar for the next one (and if you're a maker who'd love to vend, you can apply up here).

come hang with us

summer is fleeting. cliche, but it keeps being true. we'd love to be part of yours, whether that's a quick ac break, a weekly class, a thursday night on the patio, a sunday morning open play, or honestly? all of the above.

stop by, slow down, sip the iced coffee, let your kids climb the slide for the hundredth time. we'll be here.

xo,
the little village 💛
