on saturday, september 12, from milwaukee with love is coming right down north ave, & we get to be a stop on it. it's a romance book crawl, it's free to join, & it is exactly as fun as it sounds.

we're teaming up with the well red damsel to caffeinate & feed everyone doing the crawl, & somewhere between "sure, we'll do a couple of drink specials" & "what if the cold brew had a name," things got away from us.

so here's the book crawl secret menu, & the reasoning behind every single name. no notes were taken. all decisions are final.

the drinks ☕

our patio coffee & matcha bar is open 8am to 2pm on crawl day, & these 7 are the specials. walk up & order, no pre-order needed.

the tempest · cinnamon roll cold brew + vanilla cold foam
named for the book headlining the crawl. pirates, storms, a very blue cover. & when the vanilla foam settles into the cold brew it genuinely looks like a wave breaking, which we did not plan but will absolutely take credit for.

the good girl · cherry pie matcha
sweet, pink, behaving perfectly. for now.

slow burn · pumpkin spice chai
takes its time. worth it. roughly 300 pages of tension in a cup.

book boyfriend · dirty cherry coke
sets an unrealistic standard immediately & you will not recover.

velvet · cherry + vanilla refresher
soft. a little dangerous. you know the type.

steel · mint + ginger refresher
sharp, cold, definitely has a past.

fade to black · black cold brew
if you know, you know. that's the entire joke & we're very proud of it.

the breakfast boxes 🥐

crawling takes stamina, & the registration tent can't have food vendors, so we're your breakfast stop too. every box is $16 & comes with a drink special included, so yes, you can order a book boyfriend at 9am. nobody here will stop you.

bert box · egg, sausage & cheddar breakfast sandwich w/ chipotle aioli, plus a fruit side
a little heat, a little bad for you, exactly right at 9am.

damsel box · egg, gouda, tomatoes & greens breakfast sandwich w/ kale pesto aioli, plus a fruit side
named for the shop that started all of this. the green flag of breakfast sandwiches.

east tosa oats · homemade oatmeal w/ berries, flax, chia, brown sugar & cream
cozy chapter energy in a bowl.

how the pre-order works

this is the part that actually matters, so here it is plainly:

1. order online before friday, september 11 at 4pm
2. pick your box & pick your drink
3. pick a pick-up time, every 30 min from 8:00am to 12:00pm
4. show up, say your name, take your box, get back to your book

that's it. no line, no waiting around while we toast a bagel. it'll be packed & sitting there with your name on it.

didn't pre-order? completely fine. sandwiches & oatmeal are available on-site all morning, wait times just depend on how many people had the same idea at the same time.
