Come Meet Our Newest Babysitters: A Free Member Playdate on July 6

A free, casual playdate where members meet our newest, locally-trained babysitters — right here at Little Village.

There’s a special kind of relief that comes from knowing exactly who you’re leaving your kids with — a sitter who’s trained, calm, & already loves being around little ones. That’s the whole idea behind our Babysitter Meet & Greet, & members are invited.

On Monday, July 6 from 2:30–3:30pm, we’re throwing open the doors at Little Village for a casual playdate with the newest graduates of our Care Co. Babysitter Academy. It’s free for members, & it’s exactly as relaxed as it sounds: kids play, sitters mingle, & families get to make real connections.

What is the Babysitter Meet & Greet?

Think of it as a normal playtime, plus the chance to get to know some local babysitters. Your kids do what they do best while you chat with sitters, watch how they interact with your little ones, & find someone who feels like the right fit — all with zero pressure.

It’s a low-key, easy-yes outing for any Tosa, Wauwatosa, or Milwaukee family who’s ever struggled to find a babysitter they trust.

Meet Our Newest Babysitters

Every sitter you’ll meet just finished our 4-week Care Co. Babysitter Academy, a hands-on, in-person training program — & they’re all local. This isn’t a watch-a-video-&-print-a-certificate course. Our students trained directly with local experts:

  • Led by Gabby Visser, OTD, a Pediatric Occupational Therapist
  • Health & safety taught by Dr. Karin Hamilton & Dr. Peter Rajtar of Zarminali Pediatrics

Over four weeks, they built real skills:

  • Childcare foundations — child development, routines, & caring for young children
  • Health & safety — first aid basics, CPR awareness, choking rescue, & fire safety
  • Meal prep & food safety — simple snacks & meals, done safely
  • Leadership — communication, confidence, & staying calm under pressure
  • Practice & confidence — skills checks, mock scenarios, & real-life connection with families

By graduation, they’re not just certified on paper — they’re genuinely prepared & already comfortable around kids.

Why Parents Love It

Finding a babysitter you trust is hard. This event makes it easy & pressure-free. You get to see how a sitter interacts with your kids in real time, in a space your littles already love, surrounded by other Little Village families. No awkward interviews, no guessing — just a fun hour of play with the bonus of meeting sitters you can actually feel good about.

Coming Soon: The Little Village Babysitter Directory

At the end of the summer, we’ll be launching the Little Village Babysitter Directory — a list of local, trained Care Co. graduates that we’ll share with our 500+ member families. (This is something our members have been begging for!) These meet & greets are the perfect first introduction. Stay tuned!
