There’s something magical about watching a child discover the joy of stories, sounds, and words for the very first time. At Little Village, we’ve seen that spark light up in our Little Learners classes, and now we’re excited to take the next step together.
This fall, we’re launching Early Readers—a brand new program designed especially for preschoolers ages 4–6.
What is Early Readers?
Early Readers is the natural next step after our toddler classes with Miss Kristin. Led by Miss Jenni, our Director of Preschool Programming, this 90-minute class blends books, phonics, art, music, and storytelling into a sensory-rich, play-based experience.
Each week, kids explore a new sound family through a beloved children’s book. From there, we bring it to life with games, songs, movement, and hands-on activities that make learning to read feel playful, natural, and fun.
Why a Full Semester Matters
Consistency is key at this age. By enrolling in the full semester, kids not only strengthen their early literacy skills but also build meaningful friendships, grow their social and emotional confidence, and gain independence.
To encourage families to dive into the full experience, we’re offering a special bonus: sign up for the semester and get 2 classes free! (We also offer flexible monthly payment plans.)
For families who want to dip their toes in first, weekly drop-ins are also available.
How It Works with Preschool + Kindergarten
We designed Early Readers to fit seamlessly with half-day preschool and junior kindergarten programs in the Wauwatosa and Milwaukee school districts.
-
Morning Session (10–11:30 AM): Perfect for kids in afternoon pre-k. They can even stay for an optional add-on lunch from 11:30–12:00 before heading to school.
-
Afternoon Session (12–1:30 PM): Perfect for kids in morning pre-k. After school, they can join us for lunch at 11:30 and then head right into class.
It’s a simple way to extend your child’s day with meaningful, play-based learning—and give yourself a little extra time for work, errands, or just a breather.
About Lunch (and Snack Plates!)
If your child is staying for lunch, they’ll get to enjoy our most popular dish: the snack plate! Each plate is served on a vintage cafeteria tray with one main (like french toast sticks, chicken tenders, or mac & cheese), three sides (berries, cheese, crackers, yogurt, etc.), and a kids drink.
Plates are pre-selected each week and posted at check-in, and we’re happy to make modifications for allergies. Lunch can be added in advance or the day-of for $10.
Member Perks
Daydreamer members get even more from Early Readers:
-
1 free class per month (yes, Early Readers counts!)
-
10% off all additional classes
-
Priority registration to snag a spot before the public
Why Families Love It
Early Readers is more than just a class—it’s a safe, joyful space where preschoolers grow into confident learners. Kids build early reading skills through play, while grown-ups get 90 minutes to themselves in the café. (Coffee, a book, a catch-up with a friend… it’s your call!)
At Little Village, we believe learning should feel like magic. And with Early Readers, we can’t wait to watch your little ones take their next big step.
