Join us at the Little Village Play Cafe for an adults only evening of Mindful Parenting education. Mindful Parenting includes being intentionally present in a nonjudgmental manner with your child so you can aid them in their own growth. 

By being aware of our own vulnerabilities, triggers, emotions, and responses, we are better equipped to connect with children and respond in helpful ways.

Come learn more about mindful parenting and techniques to implement with your family.

Presenter: Emma Nelson MS, LPC
-Emma Nelson is a licensed professional counselor who  specializes in working with children 2-18 and their families. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mount Mary University, and has a background in childhood trauma, behavioral health, multiculturalism, and LGBTQ+ affirmation.

Her main approach to therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while also using an integrated approach that includes evidenced-based models to best suit a child’s treatment goals.

Emma understands that for parents and caregivers, there is nothing more important than the well-being of their children and family. As a mental health provider, she has a passion for listening and providing support to her clients so they are able to cope with whatever life may bring. She emphasizes unconditional positive regard in her practice and advocates for the children and families she works with.

-As business owners and parents, Alec and Cherise are not strangers to the beautiful and challenging journey of parenthood. They are frequent visitors to The Little Village Play Cafe and are alway looking for ways to contribute to their community.
